Tweeten and Young CPAs, P.C. was started in October, 1998. Our motto is "Professional Service with Personal Attention" and this is our commitment when working with our clients. When meeting the needs of a rapidly changing business and tax environment, it is still important to feel "connected" to a local business professional who knows your business history and future needs.

Carol F. Tweeten, CPA

Carol founded the firm in October of 1998, after two and one-half years working as a professional staff accountant with a national public accounting firm in Mason City, Iowa and twelve years of additional professional accounting and tax experience with another local accounting firm in Forest City. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, Minnesota. Carol has vast experience working with farming professionals and other small-to-medium size businesses and assists many individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations in tax planning and preparation. She also has many years of experience in performing review and compilation engagements. Carol works with both new and continuing businesses and individuals. She and her husband Doug (a local grain and hog farmer) have three sons: Ryan, a 2010 graduate of Iowa State University, Drew a senior in high school and Luke, a seventh grader. Carol is actively involved in her church, the Forest City chapter of PEO, and serves on the board of directors of a local insurance agency. She enjoys reading, golfing and sports of all kinds.

 

Marlene F. Young, CPA

Marlene has been with the firm from its original inception in 1998. Prior to that, she worked with a local accounting firm in Forest City and in accounting and banking in Garner, Iowa. She received her CPA license in 2001. Marlene specializes in assisting new clients in business consulting, especially working with them using QuickBooks accounting software. She has a large experience with tax planning and tax preparation as well as payroll and payroll tax assistance. Marlene and her husband Ron moved to Forest City in 2004 after both growing up and residing in the Garner area. Ron is employed by Winnebago Industries. They have two grown sons, Joe and Ben, who are both engineers working in this area. Marlene is a member of the Forest City Rotary Club and the Forest City Women in Business Organization. She enjoys golfing, motorcycling and spending time with her family.

 

Samantha J. Dugan, CPA

Samantha started working with the firm in July, 2008. Sam received her bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a minor in ethics, from UNI in December, 2007 and had experience working with a variety of businesses and organizations while in college. She received her CPA license in October, 2009 and is excited to work in our local CPA firm, building strong relationships with clients. She grew up on a farm east of Thompson and graduated from Forest City High School in  2003. Sam currently lives on an acreage northeast of Forest City, where she enjoys spending time outdoors and working with her farm animals.

 

Beth R. Daniels, Receptionist & Office Assistant

Beth started working with the firm in October, 2009. Beth received her associate's degree in Accounting at NIACC in December, 2008. She is currently working toward her bachelor's degree. She has two children: Madison, a sixth grader, and Payton, a fourth grader. She grew up on a farm north of Kanawha and currently resides in Kanawha. Beth enjoys spending time with her family, pets, and being outdoors.
